The Foraker Group Nonprofit Sustainability Model©

In the customer satisfaction survey we ran last spring, 84% of the respondents said their work with Foraker has raised their awareness of the conditions that help a nonprofit along the path to sustainability. Those conditions are:

• Unrestricted dollars
• Organizational focus
• Board-staff balance
• Complementary collaborations

The more we work with Alaska nonprofits on sustainability, the more we learn about the innovative ways you are using the model. We will highlight some of those strategies in future Foraker newsletters. 

A sustainable sector in Alaska – with healthy organizations that are able to work toward their mission – is a journey we’re on together, and we can learn much from each other along the way.  Foraker president Dennis McMillian is being asked to present about this model Outside so it is now getting national exposure.
