Giving to international health charities increased last year after two years of declines, according to a new study by the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation. Government and private money to those nonprofits rose by roughly 8 percent this year, the study found. The biggest private donor to global health, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, gave more of its dollars to research institutions and universities than other types of health charities. Read more…
