Leadership Summit speaker will talk about organizational performance

Jan Glick, founder and principal of Jan Glick & Associates, has played a pivotal role in transforming the organizational performance of over 100 nonprofits and government agencies. Glick will be a featured speaker at the Foraker Leadership Summit which will be held in Anchorage on September 20 and 21.

He has more than 20 years of hands-on leadership experience as a former executive director of a statewide nonprofit and small business CEO, and has developed a nationally-recognized turnaround practice that facilitates lasting change and overall performance improvement for organizations in distress. Through a combination of strategic restructuring, targeted program enrichment, executive leadership coaching and non-traditional crisis intervention methods,

Jan helps clients confront, and subsequently resolve, deep-rooted organizational issues that influence decision-making and impede success. Glick’s new book, Nonprofit Turnaround, is scheduled for publication in 2010.

Internationally-recognized speaker to give keynote at Foraker Leadership Summit

Margaret Wheatley, an internationally-recognized writer and speaker, will deliver the keynote address at the Foraker Leadership Summit which will be held in Anchorage on September 20 and 21. She will also be involved in several workshops during the Summit. Wheatley will discuss how to best accomplish our work, sustain our relationships, and move forward to serve customers in these difficult times. She has written multiple books and articles, and is co-founder of The Berkana Institute.

Wheatley received her doctorate in Organizational Behavior and Change from Harvard University, and a Masters in Media Ecology from New York University. She’s been an organizational consultant since 1973, a global citizen since her youth, and a professor in two graduate business programs. The Foraker Group once again will provide a rich learning and sharing opportunity for Alaska’s nonprofit board members, volunteers and staff at its second Leadership Summit. The event will be held September 20-21, 2010, at the Egan Center in Anchorage. This year’s summit will focus on the steps we can take to enhance the wellness of our community, our organization and ourselves.
