Join us for a lecture by Dr. Anya Samek, Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Southern California.
Thank you calls are presumed to be an essential fundraising strategy in the nonprofit sector for retaining donors. Yet the effectiveness of these calls on future giving has never been tested. Until now. The University of Southern California conducted research with over 60 public television stations and a large national nonprofit in which donors were randomized to receive a thank you call or not. The experiments involved nearly 600,000 individual donors and 500,000 thank you calls over a period of 6 years. What they found may surprise you. Join us to learn more about what research tells us about fundraising strategies - and the implications for the nonprofit sector.
The 2019 Philanthropy Lecture Series is co-hosted by The UAA Department of Economics, Rasmuson Foundation, and The Foraker Group.
