Set your organization up for success by strengthening the vital relationship between your CEO and Board Chair. A great partnership requires dedication, communication, and shared celebration. We invite board chairs and CEOs to join us for four sessions designed to foster these key elements, explore essential topics, and connect you with your peers across the state.

Join us for one or all the sessions for an opportunity to enrich your organizational leadership together.

Note: Both the CEO and Board Chair need to be registered. If you have been elected as the incoming chair (and are not the current chair) you are also welcome to attend with your CEO.

Session 1: Whose job is it?  Explore the role of the board chair and the CEO - the single most important relationship to get right – and get clear on your responsibilities. 

Session 2: The room where it happens: Explore the components of productive board meetings and the use of committee meetings in advancing your organization’s mission. 

Session 3: Performance evaluation - ways to make it useful: Explore how the board chair and CEO can collaborate to determine what is most important in evaluating the CEO’s performance. We’ll talk about ideas for getting started and common missteps.

Session 4: Great interaction - no management: Explore the importance of understanding the board’s boundaries with staff and how to keep those lines clear.
