Leadership is not about your title, it's about how you show up.
As a leader, everything you do affects the way people regard you and your organization. Leadership isn’t about managing. It’s about setting an agenda and holding everyone accountable for achieving it. Great leaders inspire a shared vision. They understand what motivates people, and they master the art of delegation. If you need a sounding board to talk through a challenge or explore an idea, our door is open.
We believe that every leader needs a safe space to get grounded, to think out loud, and to reflect. When you need support, our team is here for you.

We believe that successful leaders are supported leaders. We offer two kinds of ongoing support: mentoring and coaching. A mentor is someone who is called upon for their experience and guidance. While you might turn to a mentor for advice or to learn best practices, coaches are positioned to guide and support you to lead through complex challenges. Both mentors and coaches can help you to:
Both programs are offered through distance delivery – allowing for flexibility, statewide accessibility, and affordability.

Our interim executive pool consists of highly qualified and seasoned professionals who have led nonprofit organizations for many years. Our interims can help the board navigate stability after a crisis, give the board breathing room before taking the next step, or hold the mission steady during a time of change.
After having an extensive conversation with the board, we can place someone with your organization, either full or part-time. Contractually this relationship is between Foraker and the organization saving the organization from having to hire a temporary staff member.
Interim engagements typically are six months or less during which time the board must be actively engaged in transitioning to the next executive leader.

Rasmuson Foundation created this program to provide executives time away from the office for rest, personal renewal, and professional growth. Executives serving Alaska tribal organizations and nonprofits as a CEO, president, executive director, or tribal administrator are eligible to apply.
Many participants credit their sabbatical with preventing professional and emotional burn-out. They spend time reconnecting with family, traveling, and pursuing personal interests. Organizations also benefit as boards and staff members grow while their leader is gone.
The sabbatical application requires a written plan for how the organization will be managed in the leader’s absence and a letter from the organization’s board endorsing their executive’s decision to apply. Personal interviews with finalists play a major role in the decision process.
Guidelines and application materials are available at the Rasmuson Foundation website, or contact us and we can help guide you.
