Alaska Legal Services Corporation (ALSC) is recruiting for a full-time (35 hours per week) experienced attorney to lead ALSC’s Anchorage law office dedicated to assisting low-income Anchorage residents facing critical legal issues. The Anchorage Supervising Attorney is responsible for the supervision of attorneys and support staff, caseload management and review, maintaining a general caseload including litigation before courts and administrative agencies, and overseeing the administrative functions of the Anchorage office. This position also has responsibility for the preparation of grant applications and reports, and serving as an agency representative in the community, including conducting community legal education.
Required: Minimum of three years legal experience. Applicants must be admitted to practice law in Alaska or admitted to practice in another state and be eligible for an Alaska Bar Rule 43 waiver. Computer proficiency (Windows operating system, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Internet, e-mail and data entry).
Highly desired: Management experience; a demonstrated commitment to serving low-income individuals; and a background working in cross-cultural situations.
