POSITION SUMMARY: The Transactions and Government Contracting Senior Counsel serves as a key member of the Legal Department and provides strategic legal advice and transaction support across the organization. This position is responsible for structuring, negotiating, drafting, and managing a broad range of complex commercial transactions, government contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, strategic partnerships, and related business arrangements. The position plays a critical role in advancing the organization's mission by supporting relationships with Alaska Native Tribes, Tribal Health Organizations, federal and state agencies, and key strategic partners. The position requires a sophisticated understanding of federal Indian law, Tribal Self-Governance, healthcare operations, and government-funded programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Non-supervisory – Nine (9) years of relevant legal experience, including substantial experience in transactions, government contracting, health law, construction law, and/or other relevant substantive areas.
Active membership in the Alaska Bar in good standing, or active bar license in another jurisdiction required to secure Alaska Bar membership through reciprocity.
