Job Description
General Functions:
The Driver, Financial Assistance is responsible for providing transportation services to Financial Assistance Department staff and program participants, enabling access to CITC services, community resource agencies, and essential appointments. This position supports CITC's mission by working in partnership with our people to develop opportunities that fulfill our endless potential through reliable transportation and administrative support. The Driver transports staff to home visits and community meetings, purchases and delivers supplies for FA and participants, and serves as backup courier. Additional responsibilities include providing front desk coverage and administrative support as needed. This role requires professional customer service skills and the ability to ensure safe, accommodating transportation for all participants.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide safe and reliable transportation services for participants to essential appointments, community events, and CITC services.
- Transport Financial Assistance staff to home visits, community meetings, and participant appointments.
- Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, cleaned, fueled, and ready for service at all times, notifying Office Manager of needed repairs.
- Purchase and deliver supplies and food from various vendors for FA Department and participants.
- Maintain accurate records of all driving services provided, participants transported, and gas card reconciliations.
- Answer phone calls, respond to general email inquiries, greet guests, and route questions to appropriate staff members.
- Create, file, organize, and maintain physical and electronic files while ensuring current communication information in workspace.
- Perform clerical functions including photocopying, document transmission, office supply ordering, and correspondence preparation.
- Provide professional customer service to all CITC staff, participants, vendors, and key stakeholders.
- Serve as backup courier and administrative support for Financial Assistance Department.
- Ensure participants receive necessary accommodations while receiving transportation services.
- Follow all OSHA safety and health standards in performing assigned duties.
- Participate in scheduled internal and external meetings and training as requested.
- Maintain strict confidentiality according to regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Perform all related duties as needed and assigned.
Job Specifications:
- Ability to understand and follow instructions while prioritizing and maintaining a schedule of daily activities.
- Knowledge of standard office computer use including email and Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to use hand tools and necessary equipment required to complete essential job functions.
- Ability to perform repetitive lifting and carrying of heavy objects.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and safe work practices.
- Ability to work professionally and courteously with diverse populations.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to coordinate multiple activities.
- Ability to handle crisis situations effectively.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the social, health, educational, training, and cultural needs of the Alaska Native and American Indian community.
Minimum Core Competencies:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Continued employment is contingent upon completion of satisfactory state and federal fingerprint criminal background check.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Four (4) years of experience in administrative, clerical, general office, business, or related field.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
- Experience using basic hand tools.
- Valid Alaska driver's license and insurable under CITC's automotive insurance, which requires a driver to be at least 21 years of age and have had a driver's license for at least three years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Alaska Native and American Indian populations.
- Experience in social services or non-profit settings.
- Commercial driver's license (CDL).
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and consistently working on a computer with repetitive motion.
- The need to occasionally move around the office to access filing cabinets, storage cabinets, and office equipment may be necessary.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally by utilizing proper lifting techniques and working in a safe manner.
